Terms of Service
The terms for using Flux Mail.
Effective October 20, 2026 · Eerie Labs LLC
The short version
- It's alpha software. Expect bugs. Keep another mail client around, and don't rely on Flux Mail for anything you can't afford to lose.
- Your accounts stay yours. Flux Mail only acts on your mail, calendars, and contacts because you connected them. You're responsible for those accounts and for following your providers' rules.
- Free during the alpha. If that changes later, we'll tell you before it does.
- Use it decently. No spam, no abuse, no breaking the law with it.
1. The agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and Eerie Labs LLC, a Florida limited liability company ("we", "us") covering the Flux Mail desktop application for Windows, Linux, and macOS (the "app") and this website, getfluxmail.com. By installing or using the app, or by using the website, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't install or use the app.
Our Privacy Policy explains how the app and the website handle data. It is part of these terms.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Flux Mail. If you use it on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you may bind that organization to these terms.
2. Alpha software
Flux Mail is in alpha. That means it is incomplete, it changes often, and it has bugs we haven't found yet. A bug could mishandle a message, miss new mail, send something you didn't intend, or lose local data. The app acts on your real accounts: a delete, a move, a block, or a sent message happens on your provider's server, the same as if you had done it in the provider's own app.
So, during the alpha, please keep another mail client set up, keep your provider's own backups and recovery options in place, and report what breaks. We may change, pause, or end the alpha program, or any feature of the app, at any time.
3. Your license to use Flux Mail
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the app on computers you own or control, for your own use, under these terms. The app is licensed, not sold. We and our licensors keep all rights in the app, its name, and its logo that these terms don't expressly grant you.
You may not, except where the law allows it regardless of this clause:
- copy, modify, or make derivative works of the app;
- reverse-engineer, decompile, or try to extract the source code of the app;
- rent, sell, sublicense, or redistribute the app, or offer it as a service to others;
- remove or alter any notice of ownership in the app;
- use the Flux Mail name or logo in a way that suggests we endorse something we don't.
The app includes open-source components, each under its own license. Those licenses govern those components, and nothing in these terms restricts the rights they give you.
4. Your accounts and your data
Flux Mail connects to mail, calendar, and contact accounts you already have with other providers. You are responsible for those accounts: for keeping their credentials safe, for having the right to connect them, and for following each provider's terms, including Google's and Microsoft's. When you connect an account, you authorize the app to access and change that account on your behalf, as directed by what you do in the app.
Everything in your accounts is yours. We claim no rights to your messages, events, contacts, or anything else the app handles, and as the Privacy Policy explains, none of it reaches us. The local copy the app keeps on your computer is under your control, and so is its safekeeping.
5. Acceptable use
Use the app and the website lawfully and decently. In particular, don't use them to:
- send unsolicited bulk mail, or any mail that is deceptive, harassing, or unlawful;
- access an account you aren't authorized to access;
- probe, overload, or interfere with any provider's service or with the website;
- distribute malware or any content you don't have the right to distribute;
- circumvent any security or signing mechanism in the app.
6. Updates
The app checks for new versions and tells you when one is available. An update installs only when you choose to install it, and only if it is signed with our release key. You can turn automatic checks off in the app's settings. Updates may add, change, or remove features. During the alpha, an older version may stop working with a current provider or a current release of the app, so staying up to date is strongly recommended.
7. Third-party services
The app depends on services we don't run: your mail, calendar, and contact providers; GitHub, which hosts our releases; and the lookup services named in the Privacy Policy. We aren't responsible for those services, for their availability, or for changes they make that affect the app. A link in a message opens in your browser, and what you find there is the responsibility of whoever put it there.
8. Fees
Flux Mail is free during the alpha. We expect to offer paid plans in the future. If we do, we will say what they cost, what they include, and what stays free, before anything is charged, and you will have to choose to pay. Nothing in these terms obliges you to buy anything.
9. Feedback
The alpha exists to collect feedback, and we're grateful for it. If you send us suggestions, bug reports, or ideas, you give us permission to use them, without payment or credit, to improve Flux Mail. Please don't send us anything confidential.
10. Ending the agreement
You can stop using Flux Mail at any time by uninstalling it. We can end your license if you materially breach these terms, and we can end or change the alpha program at any time. When the agreement ends, the license in section 3 ends with it; sections 4 and 9 through 15 continue to apply.
11. No warranty
THE APP AND THE WEBSITE ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT PROMISE THAT THE APP WILL BE ERROR-FREE, THAT IT WILL ALWAYS WORK WITH YOUR PROVIDER, OR THAT IT WILL NOT LOSE OR MISHANDLE DATA. THIS IS ESPECIALLY TRUE OF ALPHA SOFTWARE. Some jurisdictions don't allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
12. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, EERIE LABS LLC AND ITS MEMBERS, MANAGERS, EMPLOYEES, AND CONTRACTORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, MAIL, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE APP, THE WEBSITE, OR THESE TERMS, HOWEVER CAUSED AND UNDER ANY THEORY OF LIABILITY, EVEN IF WE WERE ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATED TO THE APP OR THE WEBSITE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE APP IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AND FIFTY US DOLLARS. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
13. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida and the federal laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before bringing a claim, please contact us at the address below; most problems are quicker to fix than to litigate. If a dispute can't be resolved that way, it will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Florida, and you consent to their jurisdiction and venue.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Flux Mail changes. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page, and for a material change we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use the app after a change takes effect means you accept the new terms.
